Street Style From a Nopa Designer And Her Mini Me

By

Name: Dionne Ting

Age: 34

Hood: Nopa/Western Addition

Job: Designer and Founder of My Moon

What are you wearing?

"An Ann Demeulemeester jacket, vintage high-waisted sailor pants, My Moon top, Creatures of Comfort clogs, a vintage turquoise ring, and other gold rings from Etsy."

How would you describe your style?

"Classic and minimal with an edge."

Has your style changed after becoming a mother?

"Slightly. I'm not sure if it was from becoming a mother or moving to San Francisco from New York. Jeans and neutrals have been finding their way into my wardrobe. Before I wore all black all the time."

How would you describe San Francisco style...or is there even such a thing?

"If there is a style here, it's pretty casual and laid back with lots of t-shirts and jeans."

If you had to live anywhere else, where would it be?

"I used to think NYC. But my priorities have changed after becoming a mom. Now I'd like to have lots of space and a backyard, so maybe Portland or Seattle."

What are your top 5 San Francisco spots?

"The Mill, for delicious toast and coffee in my neighborhood. The Golden Gate Bridge never gets old. The deYoung Museum — its sculpture garden is inspiring and a great place for kids to run around. Dolores Park, for its awesome playground with Tartine Bakery nearby. And Golden Gate Park. There are so many things you can do there or do nothing at all."

What 3 things are you most obsessed with right now?

"eBay shopping for vintage wooden bowls. Ramen noodles from Suzu Noodle House. And my daughter's newfound love for singing and dancing. Especially when she performs her favorite song, 'Single Ladies' by Beyonce!"

What's up next for you? Anything exciting?

"I'm excited about taking My Moon to the next level! I really love what I do, so to continue this journey for years to come would be a dream come true. Right now I'm working on a fun collaboration for fall 2014, and hope to do more in the future. We'll see where it all takes me. Hopefully, to the moon and back!"
