Street Style Report: A Steven Alan Store Manager Reveals Her Personal Style on Fillmore St.

By

The super adorable beanie-clad gal above would be Lindsey Hanka, the shop manager of Steven Alan on Fillmore St.

Born in SF and raised in NoPa, Lindsey went to school in Chicago and fell in love in Minneapolis before returning to our fine city by the Bay (with her hubby) three years ago. She now calls the TenderNob home, happily wears Steven Alan daily, and roams the city in flats.

What she's wearing:  Steven Alan Dominga Dress; Steven Alan Julien Jacket; Steven Alan Bennet Belt; Dieppa Restrepo black suede loafers; Rose quartz ring from The Bead Shop on Castro; Cooperative grey knit beanie, from Urban Outfitters; Vintage glasses; "L" and "H" gold studs by Maya Brenner; Opal stone nose stud from Saint Sabrinas Tattoo in Minneapolis; Ankle tattoo from The Ink Lab in Minneapolis.

Monogram earrings -- too cute!

Vine tattoo, with text that says "Patientia" and "Matrem Meam Miror" (latin for "patience" and "I marvel at my mother", respectively).

"I love when tattoos incorporate words to live by -- and mark moments in life that you want to hold onto," said Lindsey. "I chose patience because, well, to be honest, I have none and need the reminder. The other is for my mother -- she is my rock and inspiration."

Seven Style Questions for Lindsey:

1. What's one thing at Steven Alan that every SF girl should own?

The Classic Shirt Dress -- it's a simple, sophisticated staple and, best of all, it's machine washable!

2.  What would you not be caught dead wearing?

Five-inch heels -- ouch! I prefer flats, loafers to be more exact.

3. What products do you swear by?

Anything by Kiehl's. I'm particularly obsessed with their Rare Earth Pore Cleaning Masque and their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I also swear by Benefit's Cha Cha Tint.

4. What's in your bag?

Lavender flavor bubble gum from Fields Granola. No joke, I swear it's amazing! Also my iPhone, 3 different types of lip balm and, of course, hand cream from Kiehl's.

5. I like a guy in...

Newly polished, but worn in classic oxfords.

6. What's your most treasured possession?

My Cathy Waterman love charm necklace. My mom and I both have them. It's a reminder that no matter where I am, I'm never too far from home (especially since moving back to the SF!).

7. What's your SF Top 5?

Olea - It's a small spot known for a beautiful brunch, but their dinner is equally outstanding -- the duck is a must-have!

Lands End - It's been my happy place since I knew what a happy place was.

Whiskey Thieves - It's a dive bar a half-block from my apartment, but it has style...okay, maybe not style...but it has a whole lot of whiskey!

Loving Cup - I have always been a huge rice pudding fan and it is such a joy to see so many outstanding flavors!

Buffalo Paddock in Golden Gate Park - I still get chills watching these amazing animals live. I have a hard time with zoos and the like, but knowing the history and care that is a part of this facility reminds me that, sometimes, we can interfere for the greater good.
