The rolling hills around Sonoma County are known for vineyards and farms, but these days a new casino is dealing out Las Vegas style to the agrarian environs around Rohnert Park, just 50 miles north of San Francisco. Graton Resort & Casino isn’t the first casino in Sonoma, but it is the newest (opened a week ago) and biggest (340,000 square feet). According to casino representatives, it’s also the most elegant.

The High-Limit poker tables are reserved for the high rollers and skilled players. Designers worked with a Feng Shui master to craft a room promoting luck and prosperity, but win or lose, visitors will be surrounded by riches, including two 12-foot in diameter chandeliers made with topaz, gold, and ruby crystals.

Martin Yan’s second M.Y. China outpost is here, featuring concepts from San Francisco architect Cass Calder Smith, including a dramatic red ceiling, tattoo artwork on the stairs, and a mezzanine with graffiti-inspired murals by tattoo artist Khalil Rintye of Ed Hardy Tattoo City in San Francisco. Restaurants are one of the most show-stopping attractions in any casino, but the graffiti-inspired murals of M.Y. China definitely hit the jackpot at Graton.
