Asparagus Recipe Challenge - Enter Now!
Top Chef fans, think you’ve got what it takes to walk the walk? Well, here’s your big chance to stalk the stalk.

Former Top Chef contestant and Absinthe chef Jamie Lauren is turning the judging tables on you. The challenge? Create an original first-course dish using asparagus that would be right at home on Absinthe’s menu of American-influenced French brasserie and Northern Italian cuisine, write up the recipe and submit it to 7x7.com.

• Submit your recipe below from March 19 to April 6, 2009
• On April 9, 2009, the finalists’ recipes will be presented to the panel of judges
• On April 20, 2009, the grand-prize winner will be announced on 7x7.com
The three runner-ups will receive:
A KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer and a copy of Cooking School Secrets for Real World Cooks by Linda Carucci

The grand-prize winner receives:
• The honor of having his or her dish on the menu at Absinthe for two weeks
during the spring
• Dinner for two at Absinthe
• A Special Edition 90th Anniversary KitchenAid stand mixer
• The recipe will appear in 7x7 magazine
Please note: This contest is only open to amateur cooks and culinary-school students. Professional chefs are not eligible to enter. Only one entry per person.
