SF Symphony 2008 Opening Night Gala

Music enthusiasts of all ages joined in celebrating the opening of the SF Symphony’s 2008–2009 season on Wednesday, September 3. The evening’s performances included Bernstein's Symphonix dances from West Side Story and pieces by pianist Yefim Bronfman.

Gallery 645 and BRAVO! Club Host a Party for the Art of Opera Exhibit

On Thursday, August 14, guests celebrated the photography of John F. Martin. The sneak preview showcased a series of the artist's work with the San Francisco Opera. The exhibit is a glimpse backstage where you can see the performers’ onstage makeup, costumes and facial expressions up close and personal.

Launch Party for SF20 Host Committee at Boucheron

Boucheron hosted a kick-off cocktail party to honor the SF20 Host Committee on July 31st. SF20, which will take place September 10th at Fort Mason, is a 20th Century art show and sale benefiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Symphonix Opening Gala Preview Held at Decorator’s Showcase Home

Symphonix hosted an Opening Gala Preview event at this year's Decorator Showcase home in Pacific Heights. San Francisco Symphony Artistic Administrator, Michael Bartlett, Associate Conductor, James Gaffigan, and first chair violinist, Melissa Kleinbart answered questions regarding this year's Opening Night Gala repertoire on September 3rd.

I don't even know where my swimsuit is--being fair-skinned and generally heat-averse, I steer clear of sunbathing whenever possible. (That being one of the points, for me, of living in SF.)

The Clift Hosts a Private Preview of the New Rolling Stones Exhibit

On Thursday, July 10, the Clift hotel hosted an exclusive preview of “Beggars to Exiles: Unseen Photographs of the Rolling Stones, 1966-1971,” a new exhibit at the San Francisco Art Exchange. Guests enjoyed a sneak peek at previously unseen and rare portraits of the band and had the unique opportunity to meet Stones’ photographer Dominique Tarle and Medium actor Jake Weber.

Summer Exhibit Opening Party at the Asian Art Museum

On Wednesday, June 25 the Asian Art Museum celebrated the opening of its summer exhibit “Power and Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty” with a cocktail reception and formal dinner party.  The evening commenced with a showcasing of couturier Colleen Quen’s breathtaking designs followed by lavish dinner catered by McCall Associates and a private viewing of the gallery.

De Beers Store Opening Soiree

On Tuesday, June 24 De Beers fine jewelry celebrated the grand opening of its Union Square location with a cocktail fete honoring the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Guests sipped cocktails at the De Beers store and mingled with SF glitterati.

“Frida Kahlo” Opening At SFMOMA

On Wednesday, June 11 the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art celebrated the opening of the anticipated “Frida Kahlo” retrospective with a preview of the exhibition for museum patrons. The exhibition, which commemorates the centennial of Kahlo’s birth, features a collection of never-seen personal photographs.
