Symphonix Members Gather at Yoshi's for Spring Party

On March 4 at Yoshi's of San Francisco, more than 200 Symphonix members gathered for their first membership party of 2008. The Spring Jazz Fever Party was held at the Yoshi's upstairs loft overlooking the towering new restaurant on Fillmore. New members and guests included Zoe Johns, Teola Young, Charles Rashall, Heather Hartle of 7X7 Magazine, current Symphonix Board President Barry Shotts and Advisory Board members Kelly Grimes and Roberta Economidis. As the evening drew to a close, Symphonix members spilled into the restaurant and bar to enjoy sushi and cocktails. 

<i>Gateway to India</i>: California Shakespeare Theater's Gala

Held in Oakland's Historic Rotunda Building on March 8, the California Shakespeare Theater hosted its 13th annual fundraising soiree, Gateway to India. The black-tie or festive Indian attire event began with a silent auction and cocktail reception, and included a variety of getaway and luxury packages and a tour of San Francisco City Hall conducted by Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Ballet Celebration Dinner at Silk's

On Friday, February 29 a black tie gala was held to honor the Gala Steering Committee for their aid in raising money for the San Francisco Ballet. The exclusive event was held at Silk’s restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and featured a five-course dinner courtesy of chef Joel Huff and a decadent wine pairing by vino connoisseur Kim Beto.

SF Ballet Auxiliary Diamond Gala

The SF Ballet launched its 75th anniversary season with an opening night shindig called "The Diamond Gala Celebration." The Ballet Auxiliary's black-tie event and fundraiser included dinner at City Hall, a ballet performance and an after-party with food, drink and multiple dance venues.

Symphonix Party at Davies Hall

Symphonix threw a membership party called "An Evening of Exploration and Indulgence" in the Wattis Room at Davies Symphony Hall following a performance by the SF Symphony.

Merola Opera Cocktail Reception

Merola Opera Program held a cocktail reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jean-Louis  Le Roux to kick off the spring gala, Une Soiree Francaise on March 15. More than 60 Merola patrons gathered for French wines, food and remarks given by the new French Consul General to San Francisco, Pierre-Francois Mourier, and Gala Chair Blanche Germain Streeter.  SF Opera Center director and mezzo-soprano Sheri Greenwald performed songs by Faure, Debussy and other French composers.

<i>The Color Purple</i> Party

Former 49ers Harris Barton and Ronnie Lott played host to a benefit for Champion Charities, dedicated to promoting brain tumor research and helping children and families in need. The night's festivities included a performance of The Color Purple.
