On Wednesday, May 28 the TeamPlay Foundation—an organization managed by Baron Davis, Gunnar Counselman, Anne Gaylord and Cash Warren—hosted a cocktail party and benefit, along with LA real estate developer Ross Walker and event planner Gianna Cardinale, at Apartment 24.

Pre-opening Donor Party at the Contemporary Jewish Museum

To kick off a series of grand opening parties, the new Contemporary Jewish Museum threw a party on Wednesday, May 21 honoring the museum’s lead donors. The event, which was sponsored by Hermès, allowed guests a first-hand look at the Daniel Libeskind-designed building as well as the current exhibits.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund’s Hope Gala

On Saturday, May 17 the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund threw their tenth annual Hope Gala. The Benefit, which raised over $ 2 million for research, was held at the Fairmont Hotel and featured a silent auction, dinner and dancing.

PURR Vintage Fashion Fundraiser hosted by Vanessa Getty and Melanie Ellison

On May 14th, Vanessa Getty and Melanie Ellison hosted a fabulous sale of Vintage and Designer clothing to benefit the San Francisco Bay Humane Friends and the Peninsula Humane Society. Clothing was donated from the closets of some of San Francisco, LA, and New York’s most stylish women along with many top fashion houses, such as Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Judith Leiber, Oscar de la Renta, and Riser Goodwyn.

SFMOMA MAC Art Auction

On May 14th, the SF MOMA’s Modern Art Council  hosted the biennial Art Auction Fundraiser, featuring a range of art including photographs, paintings and works on paper donated by local and national galleries and acclaimed artists. The highlight of the live auction was the "Turbosphere" (2007) by Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, whose work was the subject of a recent critically acclaimed survey. Guests enjoyed tantalizing passed hors d’ oeuvres and gourmet food stations by McCall Associates. Sponsors included Frette and Intercontinental San Francisco.

Sunny Hill Services Council Benefit

On May 10th, the Sunny Hills Service Council hosted the Power of Love: Opening Our Hearts to Children in Need benefit at the Four Seasons in San Francisco. The evening included a fabulous silent auction as well as a gourmet dinner and dancing. The Sunny Hills Services programs provide educational, community and housing services to emotionally disturbed children.

Saks Fifth Avenue Luncheon for Designer Peter Som

On Wednesday, May 14 Saks Fifth Avenue hosted the California Academy of Sciences Guild at a lavish luncheon in honor of fashion designer Peter Som’s new role as creative director for legendary sportswear brand Bill Blass. The event, which was held at the Bill Blass showroom, featured an informal showing of the Bill Blass fall 2008 collection and a sit-down lunch courtesy of Taste.

2008 Raphael House Gala

On May 8th, the 2008 annual Raphael House Gala commemorated 36 years of service in the Bay Area. The Moroccan Paradise, designed by Robert Fountain, set the stage for the successful auction featuring Celebrity chef dinners and a destination trip to Europe, courtesy of Lufthansa.

Amber Marie Bently Spring Collection Trunk Show

On May 7th, Amber Marie Bently debuted the Fresh Spring Collection from her exquisite line of sustainable Jewelry to over 400 guests at the W. Hand-crafted in San Francisco with recycled materials, the new collection  features an array of distinctive pieces all inspired by Bently’s world travels. The event supported the efforts of Dress For Success, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Undeserved women find professional success and gainful employment.
