Consumed: 20 of the Best Things I've Eaten in 2011

It's been 12 months of good eating. After reviewing all my past blogs, I've pulled out some—though clearly not all—of the most delicious dishes from 2011 and listed them in no particular order. A couple are new discoveries to me (see L'Ardoise), some are rediscoveries (see Kiss), but most are new as of this year.
A Baker's Dozen: The 12 Best Cookies in San Francisco
7x7 sent out a simple tweet on Tuesday about cookies and things got heated up pretty quickly. The baked-fresh-daily Specialty's cookie quickly rose to the top as a crowd favorite. Not surprising, since the California chain has six bakeries in the Financial District and a Cookie Radar—making their warm blood-sugar boosters an easy work-day grab for a lot of people. But we've found other perfectly crispy, crumbly, gooey delights in the unlikeliest of places too.
First Bite: Bun Mee Makes Its Debut
Sometimes I go to a new restaurant and my blink instinct tells me that this one is going to do just fine, even in the dog-eat-dog restaurant world of San Francisco. Restaurants like this often are cheerful, with a gregarious owner at the helm. There's no sense of self-importance, the price point is right, and everything's tasty. It doesn't take the skills of Corey Lee to have a slam dunk.
