In a move that underscores the rich cultural core of the Yerba Buena neighborhood, “artful” bike racks were installed December 14 outside Metreon. The cast-iron racks are spare but stylish, made from reclaimed metal and sporting a subtle tire tread pattern.

Sam and April Lawrence knew they wanted a San Francisco home that was unconventional. “We didn’t want a house at all,” says Sam. “We were looking for a warehouse.
