Photos: Crossroads Trading's Annual Pop-Up Shop
On November 7th, Crossroads Trading hosted their much-loved annual pop-up shop at the Hotel Monaco in Union Square. Hosted by CTC Style Council Member and local fashion blogger Kathleen Murillo of Inspirafashion, guests shopped new and gently used items, taking the rare opportunity to shop the very best merchandise selected from all six of Crossroads' Bay Area stores.
The small, private event was open to lucky Crossroads' customers who entered to receive a complimentary pair of tickets. The stylish guests enjoyed refreshments, bubbly and the luxe surroundings of the Hotel Monaco's Paris Ballroom.
Crossroads Pops Up Downtown
Shotwell is out, well, moved, Crossroads is in. Though I was a fan of Shotwell being downtown accessible, I'll take recycled fashion in exchange. Berkeley-based Crossroads nabbed the Grant Avenue space for a summer pop-up shop.
It should come as no surprise seeing as how Crossroads already had their Buying Outpost at Shotwell every Thursday. The summer shop will operate their typical buy-sell-trade business, but for downtown types in a rush, dropping off your items and returning later to collect will certainly come in handy. Designer items are especially welcome.
Help Bay Area Teens Go to the Prom in Style
Here’s a guaranteed way to rustle up warm, fuzzy feelings in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day: donate a dress to The Princess Project.
During the non-profit organization’s annual dress drive (Feb 8-14), drop-off locations around the city will be accepting formal dresses and accessories to give to Bay Area recipients later this spring. Since launching in 2002, the non-profit organization has donated some 9,000 dresses to local high school girls who would not otherwise have been able to afford formal dresses for their proms.
