Distillery No. 209
Reason to Party—Northern California's all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to engaging a new philanthropic generation—presented their elegant, annual holiday event, this year partnering with dot429 and fashion icon Carmen Marc Valvo to host “Never Too Young," a party at the Grand Hyatt to benefit the Colon Cancer Alliance.
Last week, North Beach blossomed into a sultry North Pole for Ragemas, a party thrown by and for Bay Area young professionals—drawing guests from Google, Facebook, Twitter and other high-profile tech giants—that has quickly become one of the season's most exciting parties. This year's event was highlighted with a DJ set from Jeffrey Paradise of Poolside.

On August 11th, famed fine food purveyors Dean & DeLuca introduced their latest venture, Your California Wine Source—a site that makes searching and procuring wine an easily completed task.
The event was extremely well attended by industry notables, including Dean & DeLuca proprietor and restaurateur Leslie Rudd, Dean & DeLuca wine director Kerrin Laz, and a variety of winemakers and proprietors from the region’s most sough-after wineries. Guests enjoyed new wine offerings, Distillery No. 209 gin cocktails, and delicious food prepared by Chef Stephen Rogers at the PRESS Restaurant in St. Helena.
We've already praised the smart, detailed writing of the Bold Italic, Gannett's new Web magazine, which aims to show SF from new perspectives through lengthy travelogues and hands-on experiences. But it turns out that the Bold Italites are as good at partying as they are at writing: they're throwing their first shindig tonight, a Great Depression-inspired look back at the recession glamour of 1939. A very reasonable $30 gets you two hours of access to cocktails from Distillery No. 209 and St. George Spirits, food from Aidell's, Cheese Plus, and Pacific Puffs, and "paparazzi" snapping your every move. Got some vintage duds on hand?
