Ankh Marketing presents Pacific Standard Time, a weekly party featuring cutting-edge performances at 330 Ritch. On Wednesday, July 2, Oakland-based R&B talent Goapele and funk master DJ Spinna brought soulful, dance-worthy grooves to a packed house.
Here’s 7 not-to-miss A+E happenings this week.
1. Tom Waits meets Eminem (with a twist of Forrest Gump—trust us, it’s awesome) in Tim Fite’s live show. Adam Green of the Moldy Peaches joins the talented Brooklynite for a can’t miss performance tonight at the Rickshaw Stop. Tuesday, May 20.
Those who delight in all things “saw-them-before-they-blew-up” (as in, “I saw Amy Winehouse before she blew up,” or “I saw Lily Allen before she blew up,” or “I saw the Killers before they blew up”) are likely familiar with 330 Ritch. As home to the weekly Thursday night party Popscene, the venue is the go-to place for off the moment music.
Like all great parties, the BFD music festival had a raging after party at the uber hip club Mezzanine that featured live performances by hip-hop artist Busdriver, a special DJ set by the Faint and a performance by Brazilian dance group Cansei de Ser Sexy, also known as CSS.
