Street Style Report: Local Artist Kelly Tunstall Shows Us Four Spring Looks, in Presidio Heights
You may recognize Kelly Tunstall's artwork from her mermaid murals at Bar Crudo. Or maybe you've come across her work at a local gallery. I first saw her artwork years ago, at 111 Minna, and was instantly charmed. Her whimsical figures and enchanting use of color make her artwork distinct and easily lovable.
I later met Kelly at a party in the Mission, and went gaga over her green Dries Van Noten pumps. It's no surprise that the creator of such lovely pieces of art would have an incredible sense of style, too.
Madewell Celebrates Its SF Opening With Some Hometown Heroes
A little over a month ago, we announced Madewell was opening shop in San Francisco. If you know crafty Madewell, you should expect that this will be no ordinary store — or opening party. To celebrate its San Francisco debut, Madewell and 7x7 teamed up to curate a local line-up to be showcased at the party this Thursday. We combed the city's best stores for some cool goods that complement the brand's youthful flair.
Look of the Week: Mother's Day Brunch Al Fresco
With Mother's Day only three days away, chances are you've gotten the perfect card and gift taken care of. You even scored brunch reservations at Foreign Cinema to secure your 'favorite daughter' status. The only question left is the inevitable "What am I going to wear?", and if your mom is anything like ours, this sweet ensemble will leave her positively glowing (though it might also have a bit to do with the mimosas).
Look of the Week: A Day in Dolores Park
To kick off our new weekly look feature, we decided to scour local boutiques (with online shops of course!) and piece together the perfect outfit for a weekend in the park. It’s easy, playful and ideal for soaking in the sun. Without further ado, this week’s picks:
1. Harputs Own T-Shirt Dress in Gold Silk, $200: This effortlessly cool frock screams spring wardrobe staple with its clean silhouette and high hemline.
2. Tatty Devine Dinosaur Necklace from Eden & Eden, $195: Pair this quirky necklace with a simple getup for some tongue-in-cheek chic.
Anything You Fancy at Eden & Eden
Usually sale items are relegated to some bins in the corner, filled with stuff that's more pitiable than pleasing. "A shirt with three buttons missing? Well, I guess it needs a home..." But not at Eden & Eden, where you can now find their entire selection of to-die-for home accessories (not to mention jewelry and clothes, but that's another blog) on sale for 25% off. It's called the "Anything You Fancy" Sale, and it's going on now through Saturday the 24th.
