Four More New Cafés and Coffee Spots

Ready to get your caffeine on? Here are four new places around town to put a little more zip into your day.

Four New Cafés and Coffee Spots

Whether you’re a downtown worker bee looking for a place to laptop park or a total espresso obsessive, here are four of the latest cafés, carts, and bars to open around town that are ready to caffeinate you.

Five New Cafés Around the City for You to Check Out

Our city is known for its kick-ass coffee and cafés, with no shortage of places to get your third-wave jolt on. While the hordes have been flocking to The Mill on Divisadero for its Four Barrel coffee (and joining Josey Baker’s cult of toast), here are some other new (and smaller) projects that may have escaped your notice:

Locked & Loaded: Drinking at the Temple

I'm still shaking from my trip to Ma*Velous. And not due to caffeine. Phillip Ma's new coffee and wine bar (there's beer too) at Market and Fell Street is gorgeous and delicious, with some of the most interesting ways to appreciate coffee you're going to find anywhere in the world. It is nothing short of a temple of coffee.

Locked & Loaded: Finding a Fix in the Western Avenues

Life has been nothing but boxes in recent weeks. After eleven years spent in the Mission, Nopa, and the Haight, I'm moving out to the avenues. I'm excited about the new neighborhood, but also a little worried I'm going to have culture shock. Not because of the fog, the Haight is little better and the view from my window is pure gray at the moment. Nor am I worried about nightlife, my carousing days are long behind me. Rather, I'm worried about my ability to get a decent cup of coffee or shot of espresso with any regularity.

Espresso and Emergen-C, Stay Healthy and Wired!

Barack and Michelle, peanut butter and jelly, and now folks, Espresso and Emergen-C. I tried it as a joke moments ago, and found that as disgusting it sounds, it's actually not that bad. A quick jolt of caffeine added with some hot vitamin C action and I'm on cloud 9. I must say however, the last sip is a tough one with all the citrus. Strangely enough, I've already completed three days worth of work and jogged 2.5 miles, it works!
