Love and Labor Day

If you’re not having sex in the desert this weekend, you can still have random acts of sex (and love) right here at home.

Time to Mix It Up

If you’re already having the best sex of your life, can’t wait for the next cocktail party and love watching those endless repeats of The Girls Next Door, today’s blog may not be for you (but we should probably talk offline another time).

However, if you need to brush up on your sex skills and rev up your sex life, or if you’re looking for some different kinds of fun around town, try one (or more) of these upcoming events and workshops on for size:

Halloween Castrated

The city decided to close down the Castro Halloween festivities, or as many San Franciscans call it, the biggest (and easiest) pick-up party of the year. Blocks of scantily-clad naughty nurses and maids along with lawyers and construction men, all looking for tricks and treats.

Fantasy and Fetish Party

On Saturday night, we put on a 7x7SF.COM-Sex with Emily fantasy and fetish party to celebrate this blog and the syndication of the radio show. The show will be live on XM radio and on a local station here. (details coming soon!)

Guests, who were asked to dress in fantasy or fetish wear, gathered at the Porn Palace, which is owned by Kink.com, a website “delivering, genuine raw fetish since 1997.” The cavernous space is a great playground for adults: It’s a massive interactive film set including a horse stable, jail cell and bondage wall.

Bastille Day and Burlesque

Here’s another thing about San Francisco: It’s always amused me that every holiday big or small becomes another reason to dress up, drink and most likely hook up with greater abandon: Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, anti-Valentine’s Day—there are always a zillion excuses around here to don a wig and fishnets.

Personally, Halloween lost its magic when I turned 12. Then I moved to San Francisco and was surprised (and slightly annoyed at first) to find it was a bigger deal than ever before.

Destination: Wedding

I'm writing from my quaint veranda in Positano, Italy, along the Amalfi coast. A bunch of us from all over the U.S. flew here for a friend's wedding, all so that this pair could make their vows in front of us and in turn have us vow to hold them accountable.

Cleavage Is the New Black

I'm not one of those "let's throw a party for me" kind of people. I spend most birthdays out of San Francisco with my family in Michigan to avoid the party thing. Mostly because I can't bare the thought of people not having fun, running out of drinks, showing up too early or too late or too any of the hundred and one things that could possibly go wrong and therefore make me regret having the party in the first place.

Let's Get It On

I went to a swinger party last weekend. Sure, I’ve been to a sex party, a party with swingers in attendance, but never to an official “this is a swinger party and we’re all here to swap asap” kind of party.

Only couples and single women are allowed to attend. I was invited by a couple who thought I might like to tag along. And so I did.

After the RSVP was accepted, the hosts sent out the address and some basic party instructions. We were told to show up at a Mission Street address around 10 p.m., doors would close at 12 a.m. and party was to go until 4 a.m.

48 Hours of Sexy in SF

My work is pretty much all about finding who is doing whom, what, where and how many times. So, in addition to the shows, I do a lot of “research” around town.

In the last 48 hours, I attended a dinner at the Clift Hotel, recorded a show at Mitchell Brother’s O’Farrell Theater, went to an opening at Louis Vuitton and the Health & Harmony Festival in Marin County.

No, not all sexy or sex-ridden on the surface. But here’s what happened.

San Franciscans Go Wild

Well, at least they shed some layers  (emotionally and physically) for a party at the Playboy Mansion a couple of weeks ago.

As promised, here's the video I mentioned in my first blog post:

Some snippets of conversations with sexy San Franciscans—except for the interviews with "Cousin Stevie" and the American Idol dude—the rest of these folks are your neighbors.
