On November 10, San Francisco's most vibrant young philanthropists gathered at the gorgeous Fairmont Hotel for the highly-anticipated annual fundraising event, the San Francisco Social.
This year's event benefitted Larkin Street Youth Services—an internationally recognized leader in providing effective housing, medical, social and educational services to at-risk, homeless and runaway youth. The event committee raised more than $75,000, exceeding goals and delighting a sold-out crowd.

Yesterday I climbed a ladder up to the rooftop of Nopa restaurant to visit its brand new baby bee hives. Owner Jeff Hanak has been working with Terry Oxford and Brian Linke of Urban Bee SF to cultivate a two-hive community for three weeks now. Weather permitting, its honey will surface on the food and cocktail menus below the roof as soon as June. The idea of freshly harvested honey on a menu is romantic and all, but these urban hives are really all about the bees.

The Junior League of San Francisco celebrates its centennial anniversary this year with their 85th Annual Fashion Show: A Fashionable Legacy. Both the luncheon and dinner shows, will be held this Friday at the Fairmont Hotel.
Each year the show features members of the JLSF, their hubbies and their children as models in the elaborate runway show. Model trainer, Charleston Pierce, is back on the scene this year, to help these charitable ladies get officially runway ready. (We're guessing the new models just happen to be catching up on America's Next Top Model, too.)
