So it’s always refreshing to see a local effort that not only uses the word as it was intended – to describe well-crafted apparel made entirely by hand – but does so in the name of a good cause.

Be a Teenage Dream: Donate a Dress to the Princess Project

If you haven’t waded into the depths of your closet lately for a serious clean-out session, here’s a reason to put that on your to-do list: next week marks the beginning of the annual dress drive from the Princess Project, a San Francisco-based non-profit that gifts high school girls in need with new and gently-used dresses and accessories so they can step out in style on their prom nights.
