John Turturro Reveals His 'Passione' for Naples at SF Film Society's New Theater

It is a typically frantic morning in New York’s theater district, where this evening John Turturro will pay tribute of sorts to two collaborators past: Woody Allen, for whom he played a writer in Hannah and Her Sisters, and Ethan Coen, who cast the Brooklyn native in movies including Barton Fink, Miller’s Crossing, The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou. Yet Turturro will never take the stage.

SF Street Style: European Family Style at Off The Grid

There were so many great casual looks at Off The Grid Ft. Mason, that it was hard to shoot just one person. In fact, I ended up finding a very stylish Madrid-turned-SF trio:  Silvia, a Language Specialist at eBay, looking cute in her blue and yellow; little Leah, 18-months-old, with fantastic hair; Markus, head of SEO at Yahoo!, talk about a swoony dad.

Dapper and Debonaire: Frank Sinatra and Elton John Photos Hit SF Art Exchange

The latest show to hit SF Art Exchange, “Chairman of the Board. Knight of the Realm,” chronicles the careers of Frank Sinatra and Sir Elton John by famed British photographer Terry O'Neill. Lining opposite walls of the gallery space, this rare solo exhibition pits 20+ photographs of an effortlessly polished Sinatra against 20+ of a quirkily dynamic John. Masterfully arranged in a mix of both black-and-white and color, the show tells not only of the men being shot but also sheds light on the man behind the camera. We caught up with the talented Terry O’Neill at last week’s preview event at the Clift to talk photography, music and celebrity.
