Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Every October, San Francisco welcomes Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to Golden Gate Park, offering three days of live music and an epic lineup of talent. The "pinch me, I must be dreaming" part? It's all blessedly, totally free (Thank you, Warren Hellman!). Have cash in hand to blow on the 30 or so food vendors planning to be there. But first, take a look at our breakdown of the best food trucks, stalls and butchers who will be on site, divided up by the stage where they'll be posting up.
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is celebrating 11 years this weekend at Golden Gate Park. Over 50 bands will play on six stages, providing three days of folksy fodder. While the line-up is stronger than ever, we're thinking a scaled-back, bluesy-cool look would be best for shooting the breeze and enjoying the music.
It's as if the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass gods knew they were scheduling their free concert chock full of world-class acts the same weekend many of us have to begrudgingly hand over our rent checks. But obviously that's not the real reason we're excited for the festival. Here's a day-by-day look at the best of the festival.
