ArtPoint threw its winter membership mixer at Ralph Lauren's Rugby store on Union Street last week. Fifteen percent of all of the purchases made at the event were donated to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

Jingle & Mingle
The 2007 Designer Wreath Auction brought whimsy and holiday cheer to the Golden Gate Club in SF. All proceeds from this event went to Children of Shelters, which provides educational and cultural experiences to homeless children.
Wired at W Hotels
W Hotels and WIRED magazine hosted a W Happenings shindig last week to celebrate the debut of the first temporary pop-up WIRED Store Kiosk at W San Francisco. W Hotels in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and San Diego also have these installments, carrying WIRED's top technology picks for the holiday season and all of which will stay open for 10 days.

Symphonix, which held its Fall Fete at soon-to-open Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant, brought more than 350 members together to experience a Cal-Italian menu (by chef Ola Fendert of Oola and Chez Papa) and wine selection (compliments of sommelier Mark Bright of Restaurant Michael Mina).

Helpers Holiday Cocktail Party
Joy Venturini Bianchi and friends of Helpers of the Mentally Retarded hosted a holiday preview cocktail party at the Ghirardelli Square boutique.

The Wender Weis Foundation for Children took over the Exploratorium for its 11th annual "Halloween Heroes" benefit. Lori Puccinelli Stern and Peter Stern chaired the event along with honorary chairpersons like 49er Keith Lewis; Giants Kevin Frandsen and Tyler Walker; Giants alum Orlando Cepeda; Oakland Raiders Nnamdi Asomugha, John Bowie, Chris Carr, Justin Fargas and Jeremy Newberry; and U.S. Olympian Brandi Chastain.

Spider Ball
The Bently Reserve was the site for the sold-out Spider Ball, which featured among other things: "private VIP beds with bottle service, full-service blood bars stocked with anti-venom and El Circo atmospheric creatures."
55th Annual Mardi Gras Ball
Last Friday, The Little Jim Club of California Pacific Medical Center (SF's oldest fundraising organization for pediatrics) held its Mardi Gras Ball at the St. Regis Hotel. The single-largest fundraiser, Barry Barsamian, was crowned king of the ball.
