Seven Favorite Things: Metier's Store Closing Sale
Earlier this week, Metier announced that, after 21 solid years in Union Square, they will be closing on Saturday, July 21. They were a local refuge, and go-to shop for brands like Isabel Marant and Zero + Maria Cornejo -- which are now up for grabs in their mega sale. Items are going fast, so snatch up these deals - in store and online - while you still can.
The Metier web store will remain open, selling only jewelry, and it's safe to say this isn't the last we'll seen of this fashion-breathing crew. But for now, we bid them adieu.
Street Style Report: Local Artist Kelly Tunstall Shows Us Four Spring Looks, in Presidio Heights
You may recognize Kelly Tunstall's artwork from her mermaid murals at Bar Crudo. Or maybe you've come across her work at a local gallery. I first saw her artwork years ago, at 111 Minna, and was instantly charmed. Her whimsical figures and enchanting use of color make her artwork distinct and easily lovable.
I later met Kelly at a party in the Mission, and went gaga over her green Dries Van Noten pumps. It's no surprise that the creator of such lovely pieces of art would have an incredible sense of style, too.
SF Street Style: Local Jewelry Designers Spotted in Simple Pieces + Great Shoes at New Berkeley Boutique, Viv&Ingrid at Oxford Hall
Jewelry designers, Vivian Wang and Ingrid Chen, of Viv&Ingrid, were rocking some killer flats at a launch party last week for their new Berkeley gift shop, Viv&Ingrid at Oxford Hall. The darling boutique is full of dreamy, whimsical decor and full of pretty, witty little things -- just as every great gift shop should be.
Now, designer are typically known for dressing very casually and Viv&Ingrid were no exception. They did however, step up their shoe game -- love! I really like the detailing on both pairs of flats -- the rhinestone cut-outs on the Vivian's yellow flats, and the asymmetrical line and d'Orsay cut on Ingrid's black pointies.
