On June 15, the oldest continuously operating international antiques show on the West Coast welcomed guests into six San Francisco Fall Antiques Show (SFFAS) Jackson Square galleries to explore the unique pieces on display. The gallery art dealers treated attendees to mini-lectures followed by a lovely wine reception hosted by Daniel Stein Antiques.
The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show will be held October 27 - October 30, 2011, at Fort Mason's Festival Pavilion.
Quince Restaurant—slated to open in its new Jackson Square location on Oct. 1—landed a big fish when it lured sommelier David Lynch from New York. Lynch was the wine director and GM at Mario Batali’s Babbo, as well as the Spotted Pig, but also wrote, with Joe Bastianich, Vino Italiano (Crown)—the best book about Italian wine in decades. Shortly after landing in SF, he sat down to talk about the big move.
How does the New York restaurant scene regard ours here?
Yesterday, you may have played the fool, but that’s all in the past. Here are three reasons to get excited about what lies ahead:
Start by taking a trip to Carrots, where the Jackson Square shop’s entire collection of resort apparel and accessories is marked down 40 percent. From the racks, pluck souvenirs such as Stella McCartney dresses, cashmere by KOI, tailored Kaufman Franco suits and brightly hued frocks from Sari Gueron and Peter Som.
