Live music San Francisco
OK, we’re obviously spoiled here in the Bay Area when it comes to live music offerings, but this is just getting ridiculous. Seriously. Right after an endless parade of awesome at Treasure Island Music Festival weekend, now this:
Full disclosure: I skipped out on Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. I know, I know. But from the looks of my twitter/facebook/whatevergram accounts I can confirm you’re all beautiful music-obsessed heathens. I’ll make up for my truancy with perfect attendance at these shows this week. You should too…
Major props to L.A.’s FYF Festival for drawing a clown car's worth of talent to the West Coast this week. The bourgeoning alternative/indie music fest has turned into a mini-Coachella, with similar curatorial inclinations to our own Treasure Island Music Festival. More importantly, it's an incidental coup for Bay Area music fans.
Before we get into this week’s best live music bets, a very enthusiastic kudos to the folks who staged another successful Phono Del Sol mini-fest at Potrero Del Sol Park on Saturday. Thee Oh Sees, Marnie Stern and YACHT headlined a perfect day of live music set to the visual backdrop of kids owning the skate park behind one of the stages. More please.
It’s time to celebrate America — that is, it's time to celebrate EVERYTHING about America. Music included.
