This Week in Fashion: Local Designer Camelia Skikos Fall/Winter 2011 Collection + Sunday Fashion Show

Camelia Skikos' latest collection, "Out of the Blue" showcases her signature cut-out overlays and geometric lines, but this time with sharp doses of blue, cream and black.

The SF-based designer studied fashion design in Europe before making her way to the Bay in 2003, to be the head designer at Levi's. Skikos' is now focused on her own line (which is 100% made in California), but also teaches fashion at the Academy of Art University

Sfgirlbybay's Stylish Seven: Bit of Britain

Pip, pip...cheerio and all that! In this week's Sfgirlbybay's Stylish Seven we're off to London Town! I found the airfares to the United Kingdom are quite affordable these days, so I'm in the midst of planning a May trip to London. So, in that spirit, I thought I'd share a bit of the brilliant and stylish Brits with you today.

Calling Nibs: Accessories by Tatty Devine

Back in the day when quill pens were modern tech, nibs were both necessary objects and admired accessories. Thanks to the London-based design duo behind Tatty Devine, nibs are back again. But this time, they’d rather hang around your neck than rendezvous with parchment paper.

In the talented hands of Tatty Devine’s Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden, the oversized, gold acrylic laser-cut nibs adorning handmade necklaces, brooches and cufflinks ($60-$245) pair with black crystal drop beads for a result that’s as sharply refined, yet full of cheek in that so-very-British kind of way.

Doug Washington Talks Anchor & Hope

The dynamic trio behind Salt House and Town Hall (Doug Washington and Mitchell and Steve Rosenthal) are at it again. Their latest venture, Anchor & Hope, is an oyster and fish house with a San Francisco sensibility—it’s opening April 21 (83 Minna St., 415-501-9100). Here, Doug Washington (the front-of-the-house man) dishes on the new spot.

How did you come up with the name?

Anchor and Hope is the name of an old tavern in London that we absolutely love.

Did you try to evoke that pub in any other way?
