Shotwell is packing up their Union Square shop and bringing it on home to the Mission. I'm excited to scope out their new digs, but even more excited for their ginormous Moving Sale. Get up to 80% off their amazing apparel selection, and 50% off all furniture and plants.
Everyone shops online these days, but that’s no excuse to not shop local. We pulled from six local boutiques' online couterparts and found some excellent spring essentials.
Known for their edgy-meets-minimalist aesthetic, Acrimony has a very established online boutique. It’s hard to resist their new stuff, but their online sale is a must-browse.
Fashion is fast, and we, savvy shoppers, are always on the prowl for the next big thing. Sure, H&M is a staple and we love mega fashion houses like Prada, but isn't it great when you find a unique item from an amazing, emerging designer?
One glance at our calendar made something very clear, there's much too much happening this week to keep it all to ourselves. So strap on your walking heels and get ready for some serious fall shopping:
Walking Tour of Local Manufacturers, Tues. from 9-11 a.m., 583 Shotwell St., $25: See the ins-and-outs of how everything from locally made bags (Timbuk2) to fresh baguettes are made on this walking tour of Mission manufacturers, hosted by SFMade.
Now that we're on the hunt for the perfect gifts for everyone on our list, there's no better time for there to be a weekend chock-full of events showcasing SF's best and brightest designers. We plan on starting out at Lightbox: The Hoilday Crafty Hour where unique gifts will be mostly under $50, perfect for people (like us) shopping for creative types on a serious budget. After taking a quick break to refresh, it's on to Chillin', a night of local fashion, art, music and live performance at Mezzanine.

The hot-stepper we’ve set our sights on is an open-toe, open-heel leather boot courtesy of local footwear designer Martha Davis, whose wedge-heavy debut collection ($270-$750) for spring summer 2009 has garnered much praise since its launch earlier this year.
