Look of the Week: Spring Essentials from Local Boutiques

Everyone shops online these days, but that’s no excuse to not shop local. We pulled from six local boutiques' online couterparts and found some excellent spring essentials

Known for their edgy-meets-minimalist aesthetic, Acrimony has a very established online boutique. It’s hard to resist their new stuff, but their online sale is a must-browse.

Aprizi Gives Big Love to the Little Guys

Fashion is fast, and we, savvy shoppers, are always on the prowl for the next big thing. Sure, H&M is a staple and we love mega fashion houses like Prada, but isn't it great when you find a unique item from an amazing, emerging designer?

Aprizi, a NYC-based startup, is taking a new approach to online shopping by filtering out the big brands and only featuring high-quality independent designs. Think Design*Sponge meets ShopStyle

Party Hop With The Fashion Pack: Welcome Stranger, Martha Davis at Conifer + More

One glance at our calendar made something very clear, there's much too much happening this week to keep it all to ourselves. So strap on your walking heels and get ready for some serious fall shopping:

Walking Tour of Local Manufacturers, Tues. from 9-11 a.m., 583 Shotwell St., $25: See the ins-and-outs of how everything from locally made bags (Timbuk2) to fresh baguettes are made on this walking tour of Mission manufacturers, hosted by SFMade.

Get Ready. Get Set. Shop Social!

All shopping events are not created equally.

But let's just say that if this was high school, Shop Social would be undoubtedly be the "cool kids" table packed with a mix of impeccably dressed girls that you (somewhat grudgingly) look to for inspiration.

Look of the Week: Local Love

Now that we're on the hunt for the perfect gifts for everyone on our list, there's no better time for there to be a weekend chock-full of events showcasing SF's best and brightest designers. We plan on starting out at Lightbox: The Hoilday Crafty Hour where unique gifts will be mostly under $50, perfect for people (like us) shopping for creative types on a serious budget. After taking a quick break to refresh, it's on to Chillin', a night of local fashion, art, music and live performance at Mezzanine.

What’s the Deal: John Varvatos, Martha Davis, Artillery and more…

Outside, it may be cold and dreary. But these weekend deals are bright and cheery...

John Varvatos: The fall-winter collection is 40 percent off through Tuesday. Visit the San Francisco store in Union Square or use online code F09PRS.

The Perfect San Francisco Shoe? Thank Martha Davis

Hear, ye! Hear, ye! We may very well have found the perfect San Francisco shoe – no easy feat in a town where hills, fierce winds and flirtatious pockets of summer sun are all in a day’s walk.

The hot-stepper we’ve set our sights on is an open-toe, open-heel leather boot courtesy of local footwear designer Martha Davis, whose wedge-heavy debut collection ($270-$750) for spring summer 2009 has garnered much praise since its launch earlier this year.
