Be a Part of Muni's 100th Birthday with Our Photo Contest!
For 100 years, Muni has been a part of our daily lives. It can take you home when you've had too much to drink, whisk you to work, rescue you when you get a flat tire on your bike, help you get your groceries back home, and so much more. Whether you're riding it or navigating around it on foot, two wheels or four wheels, it's a force to be reckoned with.
Muni's centennial is today, so we're want kicking off a photo contest highlighting Muni in all its awesome, crazy, where-would-we-be-without-you glory.
My Day Was Great, Until Muni Ruined It
Look of the Week: Sick Day
A number of nasty bugs are circling around SF right now. And what, with the up-and-down weather, and sneezes going off like BBMs on MUNI, catching something is almost inevitable. Do yourself a favor and be ready to take a sick day.
We know it's really tough -- staying in, having soup, and the watching the last season of Oprah -- so find rescue in the coziest of outfits. Slouchy-cute sweats, a simple tank, and a great cashmere sweater are essentials for any lazy day. For the super sick gal, keep those toes warm with heated polar bear slippers, ensure lots of rest with a fun eye-mask, and don't forget to keep drinking liquids. Basically, rest up, stay warm, have a little fun, and get well soon.
Transported: TransportationCamp Comes to SF in March
Welcome to "Transported," our weekly series about getting places in San Francisco, whether you take the bus or the BART, bike or drive. Come here to find the skinny on secret parking spots, the new bike lanes and how to get across town on Muni without losing your mind.
Billed as an "unconference" spanning the entire weekend of March 19th, TransportationCamp is the perfect opportunity for Muni/BART/AC Transit/bicycle/car-obsessed San Franciscans to nerd out together and make change happen.
Look of the Week: No Pants Subway Ride
It's just like San Francisco to welcome the new year with the 2011 No Pants! Subway Ride, this Sunday from noon to 6pm, on BART and MUNI. While we're excited to see which unmentionables make their way out of those top drawers, we're opting to keep it classy. After all, "skimpy" is no excuse to skimp on style.
Yahoo! Revolutionizes Local Bus Shelters, Promises A Block Party With OK Go
Have you seen those crazy new touch screen Yahoo ads at bus stops lately? They're actually games that pit SF neighborhood against neighborhood and until January 26th, when they disappear, you basically won't have a chance to get bored waiting for Muni again. But that's not all--the winning neighborhood wins a block party with indie band OK Go!
