On September 8, Fashion's Night Out shined in San Francisco for the third year running. Over 40 stores across the city held special extended evening hours full of celebrity appearances, new fall collections, steep discounts, and much more. 7x7 was a proud sponsor of FNO, a global initiative created in 2009 by American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry's economy, and put the fun back in shopping.
Next Thursday, Fashion's Night Out will sweep the globe once more - and hit SF harder than ever - with their third annual after-hours shop-a-thon. Over 40 stores across the city will hold special evening hours full of celebrity apperances, new fall collections, steep discounts, and much more. Here are our top picks for FNO SF.
SF Street Style: A Thrifted Leather Jacket, Killer Light Blue Balenciaga Bag + Summer Cut-out Oxfords at Off The Grid
Here's Linna Trinh, looking fabulous at Off The Grid, Fort Mason. Bay Area summer's are all about layering, and this look hits all the right lengths. Linna's ultra-cool, cream leather jacket has such a great cut, and a nice, relaxed fit. I couldn't believe she found it at a thrift store -- talk about a major score! It just goes to show, you can mix designer pieces (check out Linna's Balenciaga bag below) with thrift store finds, to make a composed, down-to-Earth look.

Through a storm of Memorial Day shoppers, a swift flash or orange caught my eye. There was Marvin Brooks, a Prada Women's RTW specialist at Neiman Marcus, decked out in Prada, (naturally), and looking oh-so fab.
What he's wearing: Tie-dyed dress shirt, striped square-end tie, dark denim jeans, and chunky blue-green-brown oxford-espadrilles, all from Prada. Vivienne Westwood ring purchased in the London VW store, Prada glasses from Glitter Optics, navy belt from Zara.
From Proenza Schouler’s buckled purses to Marc Jacobs’ straw slings, the Spring/Summer 2011 runway was whipped up in a flurry of long shoulder straps. Not all trends make it from the runways of NYC to the streets of SF, but we love these crossbody bags because they're ultra practical. And in a city full of street food, iPhones, bikers and travel junkies, it's always great when practical meets stylish. So stop worrying about your purse and let your hands go this spring with a cute, colorful crossbody bag.
Whether you like to carry your life with you, or need a smaller purse that lets you dance the night away, we have 7 great crossbody bags to splurge on this spring.
Rainy days seem to have left SF with the holidays, and we couldn't be happier. In fact, we're already dreaming of lush Spring wardrobes and luckily, Neiman Marcus is here to help.
Since his debut at New York Fashion Week in February 2009, Prabal Gurung has made quite a name for himself. Just ask his frequent patron first lady Michelle Obama. The on-fire designer recently made an appearance at San Francisco’s Neiman Marcus to showcase his Spring 2011 collection. Gurung sat down with us to talk about his designs, his friendship with Demi Moore, and his message to women everywhere.
Shoemaker extraordinaire Manolo Blahnik, described simply as the greatest shoe designer of all time by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, recently made a rare appearance at Neiman Marcus San Francisco. One of many local fans, Lillian Kwock—who stood near the front of the line at the department store's exclusive event—said, “I did a count last week. I have 39 pairs, not including these two that I just bought."
In town to promote his new book, Manolo’s New Shoes (released October 12), a follow-up to 2003's Manolo Blahnik Drawings, the famous designer chatted with journalists while the shoe salon buzzed with excitement and models floated around carrying platters adorned with snakeskin, pointed-toed kitten heels. In brief, here's what Mr. Blahnik had to say.
