Things associated with beaches and waves seem to naturally make people happy. Think about it. Mavericks had folks that never get in the ocean (let alone get on surf boards) brimming with excitement. Most lighthouses attract more people by car than by boat. Then there are piers. They attract all types: Walkers, runners, fisherman, thrill seekers, foodies… you get the idea.
Pacifica’s Sharp Park Golf Course Faces Possible Closure
One of the many beautiful things about living in the Bay Area is the possibility of playing a pleasant 18 holes of golf a stone’s throw away from the Pacific Ocean (in the middle of December no less). However, one of the most scenic and affordable places to do so, Sharp Park in Pacifica, is facing a pending closure.
Pacifica: Sleepy, But Far From Boring
So many of us venture over a bridge or down the windy Highway 1 for weekend escapes. But how about saving some gas and spending a few easy-going hours in San Francisco's coastal neighbor, Pacifica? Just 15 miles south of the city, and founded at the same time as San Francisco, in 1769, by Spanish explorers, Pacifica is a sleepy coastal town with bohemian charm and many hidden gems. Sleepy yes, boring no. Even though Pacifica means “peaceful” in Spanish, it's fast growing as a surf town and affordable staycation destination.
