Seven Favorite Things: Women's Spring/Summer Footwear from Gimme Shoes

Last week, we brought you our men's picks from the legendary SF boutique, Gimme Shoe  -- this week, it's all about the ladies. (Trust us, it was hard to pick only seven.)

Look of the Week: Everyday Summer Wedges

When it comes to everyday footwear, what's a SF gal to do? We work, dine, bike, dance, drink, explore, and play -- and we need comfortable, beautiful footwear that supports such a charged lifestyle. Well, ladies, meet your new favorite wedges.

Seven Favorite Things: Spring Menswear from Acrimony + ACRE/SF

Last week, we brought you the best from Acrimony and ACRE/SF's women's collection, and now, we salute their menswear.

The Hayes Valley boutique and its North Beach offshoot house an array of boys-only outfitters like Wings + Horns (#1) and NYC designer, Robbert Geller (#7), mixed in with crossover brands like Rachel Comey (#5) and Cheap Monday. Overall, the style is progressive yet wearable, and the devil's truly in the details.

Seven Favorite Things: Maas & Stacks

The Castro menswear boutique, Maas & Stacks, has been open for just under a year now. Housing only 12 labels (Band of Outsiders, Common Projects, etc.), the no-frills selection is obsessively curated by owners, Otto Gustav Zoell and Stephen Chen.

Women's Look of the Week: 10 Bold Loafers for Bay City Walking

This season, color, texture and embellishments transform the classically androgynous loafers into strong, feminine footwear. With prints, patent and pony-hair, these 10 tradtionally preppy flats are SF-perfect and anything but boring.

Steven Alan Opens Today in Hayes Valley + Our Picks

Three cheers and a warm welcome to Steven Alan's first Bay Area boutique, now open in Hayes Valley. The newly remodeled space houses an abundance of men's and women's everyday treasures with everything from head to toe to home (trinkets).

SF Street Style: Stripes, Prints + Messy Bun in Cow Hollow

Last Saturday, I spotted Katelyn Wheeler outside Rose's Cafe in Cow Hollow. Katelyn (a lawyer who rocks office-friendly vintage frocks during the week) was perfectly dressed down in her weekend wear -- a fun stripe-on-print mix, and a sweet messy bun.

ACRE/SF Brings Clothing + Coffee to North Beach

Calling all bridge & tunnelers, tourists and yes, even you locals -- there's a new reason to head out to North Beach, and it's not for a night of epic boozing, but rather, for a daytime tryst. That's right, take a little urban hike out to Acrimony's amazing new sister-store, ACRE/SF, a cafe-clothier that recently opened on Telegraph Hill.

For her latest retail endeavor, local fashion darling Jenny Chung chose to open a concept store that incorporates the little pleasures in life: clothing, accessories and a good cup of coffee. Twice the size of Acrimony, the loftly new storefront houses a full boutique and cafe, serving keenly fresly brewed Blue Bottle coffee, an assortment of bottled beverages, daily pastries from House of Bagels, and even some It's-Its ice creams sandwiches. That's right, ladies and gents -- shopping just got a lot sweeter.

Look of the Week: A Wearable Spin on Harajuku Trends for the J-Pop Festival

This Saturday, Japanophiles from all over the Bay will pay homage to Tokyo's Harajuku district by wearing "costumes" ranging from goth to Lolita (think Little Bo Peep). It'll be just one of many interesting sights at this year's J-Pop Summit Festival in Japantown.

While you may not want to go all-out for this one, you can still dress for the occasion by incorporating key trends:  bows, Peter Pan collars, lace, Mary-Janes, platforms, and black. Luckily, many of these trends are in this fall, too. We spun the Harajuku staples into a modern, completely wearable look, with versatile separates that you'll cherish this fall.

This Week in Fashion: Men's Summer Sale Picks from Local Boutiques Around the City

Last week, we launched our Women's Summer Sale Picks -- this week, we thought we'd give some big love to SF menswear. From Unionmade to Goorin Bros, and covering everything from comfy denim to two-tone oxfords, we pulled the sharpest men's goods from local boutiques -- all on sale

Happy shopping, (ladies and) gents.
