Rag & Bone
Earlier this week, Metier announced that, after 21 solid years in Union Square, they will be closing on Saturday, July 21. They were a local refuge, and go-to shop for brands like Isabel Marant and Zero + Maria Cornejo -- which are now up for grabs in their mega sale. Items are going fast, so snatch up these deals - in store and online - while you still can.
The Metier web store will remain open, selling only jewelry, and it's safe to say this isn't the last we'll seen of this fashion-breathing crew. But for now, we bid them adieu.
This spring, it's raining shoes and color. Flats, platforms and wedges -- oh my! -- are getting pumped-up with royal blues, emerald greens, oranges, hot pinks and neon yellows. As dramatic as they seem, the big, bold hues are often softened with constract cork and natural leather, making them perfectly suitable for everyday wear.
We spotted partners Liz King (left) and Judith Powell (right), toughing the weather in cute coats and distressed boots, while out for a shop on Market St. Liz works retail development and oversees some of the construction of Apple stores, and Judith is the executive director of The First Tee of SF, a youth development program. When they're not hard at work, the two are busy shopping and eating local, in SF and beyond.
Menswear is all about personal style. After you have the right fit, it's only a matter of how far you want to take it. That said, a lot of guys don't know what their personal style is. This Father's day, try something new -- mix a few fun pieces into your wardrobe for an instantly sharp, dapper look.
Just remember, fashion should be fun and, with menswear, the fun is in the details. Check out these reversible shorts, the leather vs. canvas contrast on these comfy (integrated Nike Air technology) wingtips, and the etched-in witticisms in these locally designed collar stays. Hint: these make great gifts, too!
