Escape from the summer sun and cool off in the menagerie of handcrafted clothing, accessories, home decor and stuff for everyday life found at this year's Renegade Craft Fair, which comes to Fort Mason this weekend. Finally, the creme de la creme of crafty creatives from the Bay Area will be all under one roof for one heck of a weekend shopping spree.
On December 18-19, over 200 of the nation’s finest indie-craft talents set up shop in the Concourse Pavilion to serve the Bay Area's holiday shopping needs with a free craft, art, design and DIY spectacular! Eager shoppers found all sorts of incredible handmade goods—everything from jewelry and clothing, ceramics and stationery, bath products and posters, housewares and comics, plush objects and more—plus eased the holiday stress with sips of ice-cold Magners Cider!

The holidays continue to gallop towards us at an alarming pace. You've got to get a tree, decorate, attend countless parties (tough life!), and somewhere in there buy presents for all your nearest and dearest. So far I've got one gift down, countless to go. It seems every time I sit down to find the perfect gift, I wind up with 20 things for my own wish list, and not a dang thing for anybody else. Read more. . . .
One glance at our calendar made something very clear, there's much too much happening this week to keep it all to ourselves. So strap on your walking heels and get ready for some serious summer shopping:
As we near the real summer months in San Francisco and people stop hiding from the fog, my social calendar gets particularly crowded. And it's not all about Outside Lands or the World's Ugliest Dog Contest. The local arts scene is heating up too, so we've put the best on our radar for you choose fill your own sunnier days:
The problem with most craft shows is that you usually have to wade through a bunch of unfortunate items in order to get your hands on the really good stuff. Luckily, that's never the case with Renegade. The country-crisscrossing fair always manages to gather the cream-of-the-crafty-makers-crop under one roof. And with free admission, tasty snacks and plenty of activities, it's become a must-attend event to look forward to every year.
The last of the holiday craft fairs is going on this weekend, so if you're still trying to find a few gifts for those hard to shop for loved ones, we suggest heading over to Fort Mason today from 11AM to 7PM for the Renegade Holiday Craft Sale. It's free to enter, and with time running out until C-Day, you'll be able to find handmade gifts from artists all over the country without having to worry about on-time delivery– just pick it up and go. Here are our top 3 picks for where to shop at Renegade:
To say we're excited about this weekend's Renegade Craft Fair would be an understatement; we're buzzing like a chainsaw over here. For its second year in the city, the free event will go down at Fort Mason and will feature over 200 artists and crafters from the Bay Area and way beyond. With so many participants you're bound to find something (or ten things) you love, but in case you need any extra motivation we've rounded up a few of the vendors we're most excited to see:
Shopping in Union Square may be convenient, but these days, it's all about unique, handcrafted goods. Digging through Etsy can be overwhelming, but the FREE Renegade Craft Fair will make your treasure hunt a little easier by bringing 200 crafters, artists, designers, and more to the Fort Mason Center this weekend, July 18 & 19 (11a - 7p).
