A Quick Chat with Yigal Azrouel

During a visit to the City by the Bay last week, New York designer Yigal Azrouel made a stop at Saks Fifth Avenue for a private reception featuring fall looks for men and women and selections from his Spring 2010 collection, which includes standouts such as a grey tank with cut-out details and a black blazer and shorts ensemble with go-anywhere potential.

Beauty Update: Raychel Wade's Simple Tips for Fall

Pondering new ways to update your beauty routine for fall? A simple approach and a few new hues are all you need, as we learned during a chat with makeup artist Raychel Wade. The 2009 color ambassador for La Prairie who regularly revamps makeup bags and bestows beauty advice via her New York-based company Cheek to Chic, Wade was in town recently to introduce press and La Prairie diehards to the new Plumage de Nuit Fall 2009 collection by La Prairie at Saks Fifth Avenue.

During a break from beautifying faces, Wade gave us some easy beauty tips that anyone can use for a quick autumn update:

An Ode to the F-Word, by Christian Siriano

Indiscriminate f-word usage isn’t usually a good thing for a newcomer to try (just ask Jenny Slate). But when you’re Christian Siriano and the f-word in question is “fierce,” it happens to mean very good things indeed. Along with collaboration deals with big name brands such as Payless and Victoria’s Secret, the 23-year-old designer hailed by Tim Gunn as the next Marc Jacobs has produced four collections under his own label since becoming the youngest winner of Project Runway during the show’s fourth cycle.

Look of the Week: Lux for Less

The end of spring is rapidly approaching, and with it comes one of our favorite fashion 'holidays': the end-of-season sale. Since we've never been ones to shell out exorbitant amounts of money on the latest trends off the Parisian runway (okay, it might also be due to lack of funds), designer sales allow us to shop like a socialite and stock up on high quality pieces that will stay in our wardrobe indefinitely. We've been scouring the shops all week for this season's most noteworthy finds. So without further ado, here are our top five picks:

Look of the Week: Sazerac Chic

San Francisco may have a reputation of not taking fashion too seriously, but the same cannot be said about our cocktails. So much so that we have a whole week dedicated to celebrating them, and this just so happens to be that week. Since many of the recipes being poured are revamped classics (try the Corpse Reviver #2), we can't think of a better excuse to get dolled up in a early '60s-inspired ensemble and hit the town.
