Sale at Pierre Deux

In this era of MCM madness, "French Country" is a term that, while loved by some, can cause cringes in many a design circle. But while the beauty of an Eames or Saarinen is undeniable, the warmth of a farm table or elegance of a settee is also most certain. Another reason to give the style a chance? The arbiter of all things "French Country", Pierre Deux, has select items marked down as much as 70% percent from now until February 1st. Oui, s'il vous plait.

40% Off at Therapy

Who couldn't use a little therapy after the hectic holidays, right? And if you prefer the retail kind, make your way over to the Mission this week where home decor store Therapy's entire stock is 40% off. There is a great selection of simple Mid-Century Modern inspired sofas, as well as a good mix of decorative accents to fit any space. Get over there soon though as the sale is just to clear some space for new inventory, and will be over in about a week.

Post-holiday sales, year-end sales, New Year’s sales. They come with many different names, but have one thing in common: great deals. Here are a few of our favorites starting up in the city today:

Economical Gift Ideas from the Curiosity Shoppe, Scandinavian Details and Frette

It seems that everyone is trying to scale back this holiday season, but that doesn't mean gifts have to go to the wayside. Make something, donate, or check out our picks for inexpensive finds for any holiday budget...

Mission Holiday Block Party

Perhaps no other San Francisco neighborhood masters the balance of high and low like the Mission (think bacon wrapped hot dogs versus dinner at Range, thrift store furniture finds versus Mid-Century masterpieces at Monument), but rarely do you see high for low... anywhere in the city, for that matter. This Friday, however, some of the Mission's finer merchants will be bucking the norm with late-night sales and deals on everything from home decor to clothes to drinks (yes, please). There will also be a number of door prizes, live entertainment, and complementary snackies at locations throughout the area.
