Our Pick of the Litter: Fave Etsy Local Offerings

An online treasure trove for all things handmade and vintage, Etsy is one of our top go-to sources when we want to break away from our fast fashion fixes and opt for something unique but still inexpensive. After scouring the current Etsy Local shop for SF this week, we wanted to share what's impatiently waiting in our shopping cart:

1. The Cleo headpiece from jaybmillinery, $48: We are seriously smitten with this structural felt headpiece which also happens to be one of the more reasonably priced we've found. Side note: be sure to check out Jay B's other options while you're browsing as it was nearly impossible to choose a favorite.

Harajuku Fashion on Display

Fuzzy bunny ears, mismatched stockings in day-glo hues and plastic hair barrettes are not likely to be among the go-to accessories of the average American girl over the age of five, but these sorts of childhood adornments are central to many an outfit concocted by those frequenting Tokyo’s Harajuku fashion district, the subject of a photography exhibit now on view at the downtown office of the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco.

Hey, did you get your tickets? The Tobi blog works on selling tickets to the summer gun show in a recent post about the current dudes-in-tank-tops trend. The disturbing byproduct of this trend? Unsolicited armpit hair sightings outside of trips to the beach or your weird uncle's house. Ew.
