San Francisco Wedding Fair

Tell Us Your Engagement Story to Win a Prize (Hint: Make it Creative and Cry-Worthy)

When it comes to proposal stories, it seems like we’ve heard it all—everything from presenting the ring on a fake hand hidden in a pumpkin to messages written in the sand. But the ingenuity of love is always surprising—and our annual contest is your chance to show your romantic stuff.

The Winning Proposal: A Scavenger Hunt Around San Francisco

We asked soon-to-be-weds to submit their best wedding proposal stories to win tickets to Sunday’s San Francisco Wedding Fair at the Four Seasons (check out our guide to the Wedding Fair). Many of the entries were memorable, but the tale of Nani Dickinson and Evan Stern won our hearts and (no lie) made our jaded eyes a bit misty. Evan went to extraordinary lengths to surprise Nani, sending her on a riddle-studded quest around San Francisco before he dropped to his knee at one of the city’s most scenic spots.

Not every bride-to-be is fortunate to have her own Mindy Weiss (wedding planner to the stars - think Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson and Avril Lavigne). Nope, sometimes we actually have to plan it ourselves.  Which, let's be honest, sometimes sucks.

Enter The Four Seasons. All day on Jan. 18, the luxury hotel will play host to the San Francisco Wedding Fair, where bride-to-bes can sip champagne, listen to the sweet sounds of a string quartet and drink, er, plan away her worries with the help of a panel of professionals.
