scenes of the city
Here's an excerpt from a new Veterans Mural being painted in Shannon Alley between Jones and Taylor in the Tenderloin.
"And they can teach us how to make peace with ourselves and each other, so we never have to use violence to resolve conflicts again" - Thich Nhat Hanh.
Saturday's sunny afternoon was ideal for hanging out in Golden Gate Park at the 23rd Annual Jimmy's Old Car Picnic. The wide array of vintage cars and BBQ proved to be a great alternative to the crowds at TI Music Fest.
This for week's Scenes of the City we hung out inside and outside of AT&T Park for a couple odd events. One was the aforementioned Cal Bears football team playing in the park (they will be playing most of their home games there because of renovations to their home field). The other is the first-ever water polo match in McCovey Cove. As part of effort to garner support for their sport, the UC Berkeley Alumni Water Polo team vs. The Olympic Club Water Polo team played a match in the somewhat frigid waters of the bay.
We love the way our city glitters at night. What are your favorite neon signs?
