With the holiday season approaching faster than we'd like to admit, once empty storefronts are quickly filling up, and might we say, looking better than ever. In fact, there's so much happening as of late that it's been hard (even for us!) to keep track, so we decided to do a quick recap of the new and notable shops about town:
John Fluevog, 253 Grant Ave.: Exactly 13 years after opening his Haight St. location, the John Fluevog moves into an amazing four-story space in Union Square, where the first floor will be dedicated to his signature quirky shoes and accessories and the top three floors used as a gallery space.
Fall into amazing deals...

To kick off our new bi-weekly shopping feature, where we highlight five pieces we love at local shopping destinations, we decided it was only fitting to hit up one of the newest boutiques to sprout up in the Mission, Wonderland SF.
Though Irene Hernandez-Felks is certainly no stranger to the local fashion scene, the founder of Chillin' Productions now has a storefront to house the latest collections from established and emerging SF designers.
We stopped in to scour the racks and share the five pieces we're most excited about:
If you looked at the calendar this morning and panicked a little (okay, a lot), you're definitely not alone.
But never fear, we did the dirty work for you and rounded up the perfect last-minute gifts, no matter what your dad's into. Even better still, they're all available locally in case you feel like shelling out the big bucks for overnight shipping.
Just don't forget the card.
1. Basil d'Azur Pannier Bag from PUBLIC, on special for $88: Made for the man on the move, this bag looks effortlessly stylish on and off the bike.
With a weekend chock full of local fashion happenings kicking off today, it seemed only appropriate to look to SF designers and boutiques for the perfect outfit to wear for some serious summer shopping.
To achieve a polished yet comfortable look, we opted for an easy chic floral shirtdress topped off with bold cat-eye sunnies, edgy earrings, cutout oxfords and, of course, a tote to carry all your finds.
1. MinkPink Ashley Shirtdress, $77
One glance at our Facebook events calendar made one thing very clear, there's much too much happening this week to keep it all to ourselves. So put on your walking heels and get ready for some serious summer shopping:
The Colors of Summer, Thurs. 6/3 from 6-9 p.m., Free: Party like you don't have to work on Friday at Shotwell with the help of free PBR, Jello shots and beats by DJ Sarah Delush. After your inhibitions are sufficiently lowered, enjoy a mini mani by Tranquility Nails and snag some fresh summer threads on sale.
One glance at our iCal made one thing very clear, there are way too many fashionable happenings this week to keep them all to ourselves. So put on your walking heels and get ready for some serious shopping:
Sometimes (okay, most of the time) we just can't seem to find the time or energy to spend the day hunting for unique pieces to spruce up our wardrobe on the cheap.
Well ladies and gentlemen, say hello to your new one-stop shop.
Nestled just far enough off Haight to feel like a secret treasure, Revolver is frighteningly close to what our dream closet would look like. And what our boyfriend's dream closet would look like. In fact, we really wouldn't be opposed to packing up and moving into the rustic boutique-slash-gallery space.
