SPCA

Hey, Giants fans: Through October 31st, the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA has a $9 adoption special on all Giants-colored (that's orange and black!) kitties.

How You Know the Holidays Are Here: The Puppies Hit the Macy's Windows

Beginning today, a gaggle of San Francisco's cutest shelter cats and dogs will get their shot at the spotlight. In an effort to find warm and loving homes for the holidays, SPCA residents will resume starring roles in Macy’s Union Square's holiday windows. Shoppers can search for the perfect gift--and what's more perfect than a fine furry friend?--in the Stockton and O’Farrell Street windows, where over 200 shelter animals found loving homes last year. Local NBC Bay Area meteorologist, Craig Herrera, will host the unveiling.

Best in Show, Halloween-Style

If you missed your chance to party with your pooch at the Westin St. Francis in August, now you have your second shot. But this time, it's in costume. Hotel Monaco and Grand Cafe are teaming up with the SPCA and inviting all dogs and their people to don their best costumes at Howl-o-Ween this Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

"Dog Days of Summer" Invades the Westin St. Francis

Those passing through Union Square on their walks home from work last night may have been a bit perplexed--and simultaneously, delighted--to see more than 100 canines donning their Sunday best and prancing down a red carpet that led into the Westin St. Francis' Grand Ballroom.

Pooch-Friendly Partying at the Westin

If you're tired of hitting the town sans pooch, here's your chance to paint the town red with Fido in tow. At the Westin St. Francis' "Dogs Days of Summer" on Aug. 26, canines and their owners will be treated like VIPS (Very Important Pets and Persons) in an event benefitting the San Francisco SPCA.
