Whether you're headed to Nevada to gamble or to hike among the wildflowers, you're probably missing out on these offbeat attractions. Next time you're in the Silver State make sure to stop, pull over, and check out these unique photo ops.
On a recent trip to Alcatraz, we discovered a colorful new way to appreciate The Rock.
All around the city, you can see gardens coming to life. It's time you get your self out there and get one going for yourself. Take advantage of all this rain and sunshine we're having, sow some seeds and get those plants going. Browse these pics, see some edibles and others that grow well in SF-it'll leave you wanting to get your hands dirty.
The days may be longer, but spring is not officially sprung until March 20. The San Francisco Bay Area never minds that and kicks off celebratory nature events early. From high art floral installations to educational eco-gardening to Brazil, this spring will surely be another beautiful one.
Rain, rain, go away!
We can sing and wish it away all we want, but any SF girl knows we're in for our annual spring showers. The upside? Rainy weather is one trend that keeps coming back, so investing in a good pair of rain boots is a definite must.
Let's take a moment to thank Kate Moss, for launching the Wellie trend, back in 2006, when she made muddy Hunter rain-boots look sexy, with a pair of micro-mini shorts (Of course she did!). Designers and fans quickly took note, and what was once a childhood accessory for jumping in puddles, suddenly boomed as trendy adult footwear.
It's time to seriously consider investing in a new spring wardrobe. There's just one thing -- SF closets aren't meant to house multiple season of clothing. Egads.
The solution? Buy-sell-trade shop, Crossroads, is throwing a pop-up this Thursday at Shotwell. Basically, it's time to pull a major Carrie Bradshaw and part with that dress you bought on sale last year, but have yet to wear. We all have one, and they all need to go.
Here's how it's going down. First, check out Crossroads' guide to selling your goods, for some spring cleaning tips. Next, sell your gently-used clothing and accessories to Crossroads for some cold hard cash. Then, reward yourself with a little somethin' somethin', for 10% off, at Shotwell.
Just because we’re all grown up now and have our own chimneys doesn’t mean we’re not still waiting for santa. But perhaps (and not to be ungrateful) he could fill one of these organic-cotton/hemp stockings ($55) from L.A.’s Amenity Home for us instead of the usual polyester sock?
