As you prepare for Outside Lands, remember it's part mega summer concert, part serious local food fest, and part hipster fashion show.
To make sure you're looking your best, we pulled together a few, fun essentials for this weekend, including: comfy-all-day wedge sandals (#4), a crossbody bag (#3) to keep those hands free for rocking out in the pit (or Instagramming photos), a killer poncho (#6) for the inevitable evening chill, and a kitschy flamingo throw (#7) to sit back and relax on all day long.
We don't know about you, but we can't wait. See you at Outside Lands!
Okay, we fully acknowledge that man sandals (sometimes referred to as mandals) are tough to wear. That said, when done correctly -- even with simple flip-flops -- they can make a summer look that much better.
Last week, we caught up with vintage boutique owner, Stephanie Madrinan, at her Bernal Heights shop, 31 RAX. The 31 refers to Stephanie's birthday (December 31), while Rax holds a double meaning. "'RAX' was supposed to be 'racks', but I stuck with the 'x' because it's different and, in the dictionary, 'rax' means to extend a hand or to stretch," said Stephanie. "31 RAX is an extension of my previous business, Steph's Closet."
Last week at the Ferry Building, I spotted Sophie and Kelley Hoang -- sisters with two very different styles. Sophie, who was in town from Huntington Beach, had a very LA, beachy-hip look going, while her Kelley was more appropriately dressed for the ever unpredicatble weather we're blessed with in SF.
While most stray to gray sweaters during the cold months, Aimee Song prefers to turn the notch way up in leopard prints and slashed jeans. The San Francisco style blogger behind Song of Style has a penchant for adding a hardcore twist to her look and we love how she made it appropriate for Wintertime dressing.
