Fashionistas rejoice! The ultimate summer indulgence is here and it's happening this weekend in Napa Valley. On Sunday, 8/22, Ma(i)sonry will be hosting two designer collections in an eco-luxury trunk show, featuring handmade and ethically sourced jewelry by Kirsten Muenster and upcycled leather bags by reMade USA.
For feet that would rather spend big on comfort than trends, shoes by French designer Thierry Rabotin may be just the thing to put a spring in your step.
Made using a special construction technique called sacchetto, the luxury brand’s footwear eschews traditional insoles and metal reinforcements in favor of a glove-like fit created by hand-sewing linings to uppers. The end result? Lightweight shoes that allow the foot to move naturally.
The brand continues the simple silhouettes and functional styling it’s best known for in its offerings for fall ($385-$850), among them round-toe flats, ankle boots and day shoes with wedge heels.
If you have a bone to pick with Jules Kim, the New York-based accessories designer more likely than not will happily oblige. That’s because the latest from Kim’s Bijules collection, beloved by no-last-name-needed celebrities from Beyonce to Kelis and Lady Gaga to Rihanna, is actually made using the tiny bones of animals collected during the designer’s escape-from-the-city adventure earlier this year to a friend’s 3,000-acre ranch outside Calistoga, Calif.
Wait until that deal come round...
