SF Street Style: A Modern Ad Man Shows Us Four Spring Looks, in The Mission

Meet Gabriel (Gabe) Johnson, born in Spanish Harlem, raised in Boston and, as of six years ago, a proud resident of San Francisco.

Gabe works as an adman, writing slick copy for the local boutique agency, Engine Company 1. When he's not busy getting wordy, he's involved in the local art and music scenes or in the kitchen, cookin' up something tasty.

Gabe kind of does it all, and he looks damn good while doing it. From nautical stripes to frayed-edge shorts, check out what he's wearing this spring.

SF Street Style: One Guy, Three Looks, Bernal Heights

I met photographer Abraham (Abe) Espiritu a few years back, and have always dug how he pieces modern and vintage clothing to present personal, yet on-trend looks. Last weekend, I asked him to pull together a few rain-and-shine spring looks for a little photoshoot in his hood, Bernal Heights. The end result included a fantastic mix of rain boots, black-on-black, white pants, sockless oxfords, a cool chambray, and fiery vintage prints. Check it out.

Photos: Stuff Introduces New Showroom Expansion with Studio 54 Shout-Out

On March 23rd, San Francisco's design aficionados converged on the Deco Ghetto—San Francisco's vibrantly evolving furnishings district—to attend a fabulous classic disco-themed party at the decidedly unstuffy Stuff showroom (150 Valencia St.)

SF Street Style: Balenciaga, H&M and Custom Jewelry at Union Square

H&M visual merchandiser, Mark Jssn, was analyzing the (super sold out) Marni for H&M window displays when we stopped him on Powell St.  Mark moved up to SF five years ago, from San Jose, and says he loves the city for, "the diversity of people and because SF is so laid back." And we love Mark's look for the nicely mixed (loose/tight) proportions and (high/low) brands.

SF Street Style: A Fashion Shoot at Crissy Field

SF Street Style: A Fashion Shoot at Crissy Field

Last weekend, among the frenzy of tourists, athletes and fisherman, we found a fashion stylist, model and photographer at Crissy Field. Freelance photographer, Stephen Sun, was busy setting up the shoot, while ex-SF and now Sacramento-based hair and wardrobe stylist, Noelle Lynne, dressed JE ModelKeilina Jones in hot pink hot pants and a towering pair of Michael Antonio wedges.

Inspiration for a Vintage-Style Wedding

Six vintage gowns, two models, one stylist and a photographer arrived in the hills of the Napa Valley for this styled shoot. Inspired by a valley that loves a good vintage, welcomes weddings, and oozes natural beauty. What better place to shoot these gorgeous vintage wedding gowns?

SF Street Style: Dark Autumn Palate in the Castro

While wandering the Castro, I spotted Jay L. Malvar in a perfectly transitional fall outfit. I love the deep autumn palate, offset by the gold rose pin and how his leather jacket was hung gently over his shoulders.

SF Street Style: A Local Stylist Wears Parachute Pants, Vintage + YSL, in the Mission

Local stylist Alix Jiang, caught outside Four Barrel (my new favorite hot spot for shooting Street Style), enjoying a nice iced coffee. Adorable bowl-cut and statement glasses aside, the way her breezy parachute pants moved is what really caught my eye.

SF Street Style: Vintage Lace Dress + Gold Kate Spade Sandals in Hayes Valley

When she's not pushing the boundaries of "business casual", Arielle Ring, a NYC-turned-SF finance star, plays dress-up in her vintage finery.

SF Street Style: The Man in The Red Bow-Tie, in The Mission

I caught up with visual designer Shawn Carrico, while standing in line at the SF Street Food Festival, last Saturday in the Mission. His red bow-tie and wicked-sharp glasses immediately caught my attention but, while he's incorporated great details, his outfit is still refreshingly casual -- and thus, street food appropriate. Shawn said his favorite eats at the festival were the Penang Curry Bomb Bun and Sharbat from Azalina's
