If swinging guitars and adult beverages sound like a fine combination, then Squaw Valley and Northstar resorts have just what you are looking for this weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15, the Village at Squaw Valley, in conjunction with the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Society, will be the site of the second annual Art, Wine and Music Festival.

Eighteen wineries, including Zaca Mesa (from Santa Barbara), Lola Kay Wines (Napa Valley), Domun Estate (Sonoma), Masut (Mendocino County), Hatcher (Murphys) and Yorba (Sutter Creek), will be on hand, serving samples of their product for $25 (which includes a commemorative festival wine glass). Festival goers also can take in the art show, which spans several mediums, including painting, photography and jewelry making, and attend the daily afternoon free concerts, featuring such classical and world guitarists as Celso Machado, Thakur Chakrapani Singh, Rene Izuuierdo, Connie Sheu, Giacomo Flore and Samantha Wells.

Ticket and further information can be found at squaw.com.

On Saturday, July 14, the Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival returns to Northstar Village for the fifth consecutive summer.

More than 25 local and regional breweries, including American River, Fifty-Fifty, Lagunitas, Lost Coast, Pyramid, Sierra Nevada, Sudwerk and Widmer Brothers, will have tasting stations in the beer garden, which will be tapping kegs between 3-7 p.m.. Meanwhile, the Village bandstand will be the stage for concerts by Sweetwater String Band (3 p.m.) and Grant Farm featuring guitarist Tyler Grant (5 p.m.).

Tickets are $30 in advance, $38 at the door. Complete information can be found at northstarattahoe.com.
