They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, so why not treat your best gal pal – or even just yourself – to some of the best black diamonds Tahoe has to offer?
Several resorts around Big Blue will be conducting women-specific clinics over the next several weeks that are tailored to get skiers and snowboarders to reach the next level in their riding prowess. Most sessions include on-hill training, video evaluation, lunch and aprés gatherings and are open to women 13 and older.
Alpine Meadows has a series of three-day camps, called For Women. By Women., which promises to develop skills, build confidence and have fun in the process. The camps, which cost $669 with lift ticket or $522 without, will be conducted on Feb. 11-13 (skiers only), March 3-5 (skiers and snowboarders) and March 19-21 (skiers only). Check their website for details.
Sugar Bowl is hosting a "Ski Like A Girl" two-day clinic on Feb. 11-12. The sessions, which include morning stretching and massage and/or chiropractic work among the usual clinic offerings, cost $320, which includes lift ticket.
Squaw Valley is conducting a three-day camp on March 7-9 as part of its Women of Winter program. The session costs $699 with lift ticket or $522 without and details can be found here.
Kirkwood will beholding its three-day Women's Weekend for skiers and snowboarders on March 9-11. The price of the full clinic – there is also a two-day option – is $425, but the cost has been reduced to $360 if you book before Feb. 12. Information and details are available here.
If a long weekend is unmanageable, Squaw Valley and Sugar Bowl have women-specific programs on most Wednesdays and every Thursday is Ladies' Day at Mt. Rose, where lift tickets, which includes an on-hill clinic, are $20 off the usual $69 rate.
