Bellavista recently released its self-titled album, a passionately gloomy Jesus and Mary Chain-indebted affair that has already earned raves.Though the psych-rock trio’s name, Bellavista, hints at its members’ musical history (the translation from the Spanish, “beautiful view,” evokes their now-disbanded garage-rock quintet, Vue), the threesome insist they’re starting with a completely clean slate. Vue got a taste of fame in the early 2000s touring with such bands as the Faint, bonding with fellow SF natives Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and opening for the Rolling Stones.
