(blog)
Felix Da Housecat

Time flies when you're having fun, and we sure must have been having a lot of it because January came and went with a blink of an eye. However, February in San Francisco is an exciting time for music lovers. Not only does it signify the beginning of festival season (Noise Pop's pre-party is on 2/18 and they're pumping music nearly every night straight through 3/1), it's also the start of big artists' West Coast legs of their tour. Yay for us! Noise Pop coverage to come, but to warm you up  here's this month's hot list.

Clerks' Kevin Smith

(event)
$42.50-$59.50

Moby at the Warfield

(event)
$31.50-$34

Alright, he's no new act, but we'll still clear our calendars to hear Moby live. Bringing trippy soft ambient beats to us since the '90s, the mastermind DJ, singer/songwriter and musician has recently released his latest. Come hear the beautifully emotional Wait for Me in person at the Warfield.

Paramore at the Warfield

(event)
$29.50-$32

Having just released their third album, brand new eyes, alternative rock fave Paramore is touring with a whole new repertoire. The Grammy-nominated band from Tennessee has already garnered rave reviews from Rolling Stone, was named best band of 2007 by Alternative Press readers and just finished a summer tour with No Doubt. Scour Craigslist for tix to this sold-out show. It's worth it. Paper Route and The Swellers will open.

Al Green proves he's still got the moves—the R&B legend is going strong after all these years. Head to the Warield to be wooed by the Reverend. Sway your hips back and forth to "Tired of Being Alone," "Let's Stay Together" and all your other favorites.

The Cult at The Warfield

(event)
$38.50 - $100

A hard rock band from England with a mainstream following—these guys have been around the block but still put on a good show.  Year Long Disaster will also take the stage.

Or, The Whale

Amidst this bizarre summer cold and heavy ghost pirate fog plaguing the City, this weekend’s lineup is really going to heat things up. Unfortunately, most of the good stuff completely conflicts with each other. Make good choices ladies and gents.
