This Just In: Wilco Was Good

(blog)
Wilco at The Mountain Winery, Saratoga
powervision

Have you seen the tweets and Facebook status updates? If not, we'll fill you in.  Wilco was awesome this weekend, playing The Mountain Winery (hands down one of the most beautiful venues in the Bay Area) Friday and the Greek Theatre Saturday.  On Friday, they completely rocked out the Saratoga hills, giving their million dollar neighbors what was probably the most action they've seen in quite a while. Wilco's defintely a band who is better live than on your iPod, which is hard to come by these days.

Dried Moroccan argan nuts

We've already jumped on the minerals, acai berry, ojon nuts and mega mushroom bandwagons. Does Morocco's argan oil live up to all it's hype?

Popularly known as the brand MoroccanOil used in hair treatments at select salons and quite hard to find on retail shelves, argan oil is quickly absorbed promoting the healing of acne and severe dry skin, in addition to making your hair shine instantly without feeling greasy.

Bay Area-born Dredg comes back home to perform new tracks from their forthcoming album, The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion, breaking out June 9. Formed in Los Gatos, they broke out in the indie scene in 1998 with Leitmotif. From their humble beginnings they grew to release El Cielo and Catch Without Arms, which hands down hosts some of their best tracks.

Swings Installed on BART

(blog)
Swings installed on BART

Who says grown-ups can't play on the swings? As if it's not fun enough, try swinging on a moving BART train! Last week a group of unknown people went out and successfully installed swings on BART between 24th and Mission. Maybe not so safe when BART does the swinging for you, but tons of fun and it added a bit of lighthearted playfulness to the ride of a few folks.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Josh Wildman

How many places can you name in the latest Yeah Yeah Yeahs' music video?  Quite a few, we'd bet. It's set in SF.  The NYC band hits the streets of our fair city, starting at the Warfield dressing room, then dancing atop parked cars, down mysterious alleyways and through the Tenderloin.  SF definitely looks good set against a YYY soundtrack.

Catch them live at BFD June 6.
