The Jewish Film Festival is entering its first weekend, the Red Vic is celebrating its 29th birthday, and David Byrne's Talking Heads are taking the stage (in a manner of speaking) for two nights only. It's looking like a promising week for moviegoers seeking an alternative to the mindless savagery of Orphan and the magical incantations of Harry Potter. Co-founder of the groundbreaking Talking Heads, David Byrne has been creating buzz on the music scene for years with both his group work and solo projects. But don't expect to hear him playing at Herbst Theatre tonight. Instead, he'll be talking about his passion for bikes. You'll hear from his new book new book, Bicycle Diaries, an account of his urban bicycle odyssey around the world. He'll also argue for the way a bicycle can change our view of the world and the city in which we live.
