It's science on the fly. The Un-scripted Theater Company will make the Academdy its stage on January 14 for a special nightlife improv performance. Taking cues from the museum's exhibits, the troupe will craft a one-of-a-kind show based on the natural world. You're also in for music by accomplished DJ and producer Michael Anthony, of Supperclub fame, accompanied by a guitar and saxophone.

The Contemporary Jewish Museum is pleased to present its inaugural dance performance in its now iconic “Yud” gallery with a presentation of Rebecca Pappas’ evening-length work Monster, presented as part of Nextbook's Jewish Body Festival. Since the new building opened in June of 2008, the Yud gallery, designed for sound installation and performance, has become a highly sought-after performance space, combining Daniel Libeskind’s soaring architecture with state-of-the-art audio technology.

<p>What: Join us for an outrageous, theatrical tribute to the great 60’s variety shows like Laugh-In, Shindig, and Hullabaloo. The Go Go Spectacular will be an action-packed night filled with live performances by The Barbary Coasters and Deke Dickerson’s All Star Frat Band as well as special guests, comedy, historic tributes to the 1960s and as much shimmying as The Devil-Ettes and The Mini Skirt Mob can cram into two hours!

Make it an intelligent night. Hosted by local author extraordinaire Stephen Elliott, this month's Rumpus at the Make-Out Room features special guest and air guitar champion Dan Crane, along with comedy by Will Durst and music by The Yellow Dress. Oh, and readings by D.A. Powell, Robert Mailer Anderson, Minal Hajratwala, Sona Avakian and Ryan Boudinot, of course!

Head over to ODC for their "Summer Sampler," where you’ll get a taste of the acclaimed contemporary dance company as well hor d’oeuvres and wine before the show. The up-close, one-hour performance features work from ODC’s most celebrated choreographers and promises much more than your basic ballet.

Through poetry and spoken word, we will describe our endeavors to preserve and reclaim our Native cultures and contextualize how our indigenous identities and our Queer experiences coexist.
