At 111 Minna Gallery, the newest up-and-coming chef of SF's Phoenix Supper Club, Tommy Halvorson, creates a menu that can bring together all urban dwellers.

For their last hometown show of 2009, San Francisco's The New Up is joining forces with Loquat, The Cons and more for a night of great Bay Area music on Saturday, November 28 at the Red Devil Lounge. The New Up has a sound that's described as "Metric with a touch of the Rolling Stones, with a front woman with an addictive, classy, lingering voice" (Behind the Hype) and "striking, exotic and brashly coherent indie pop that feel[s] like the sonic equivalent of a thrill ride" (Flagpole).

Bal de Paris

Le Bal de Paris is a fundraiser for San Francisco school Notre Dame des Victorires. An annual tradition since 1950, the black tie (optional) event takes place at the landmark Mark Hopkins Hotel and includes dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions with entertainment provided by David Martin’s House Party. This year’s theme is “Une Nuit A Marrakech.” Sponsors include: The Irish Bank, Alexander Valley Vineyards, Olson Ogden Wines, Beaucanon Estate Wines and Pasta Pomodoro.
